CYBERSECURITY JOB HUNTING GUIDE
The header

Information about the company
The header section is the starting point for each job description. Usually, I read the requirements section first, because I do not want to waste time. For this guide, I follow a Penetration Tester job description.
The first block tells you something about the wanted personality. A lot of pen testers generating automated reports, and that is it. Here, you can see the writer nearly “hates” such pen testers. This company is looking for a real passionate person and someone with a bigger understanding for this position. If you are a pen-tester, your goal is to trigger alarms and then you go up. Later you work as a teacher and help others to fix the discovered issues. The focus is teaching and helping, it is not the scan itself.
–> If you write a resume, there is a summary field. You can use this field to point out these wanted things. This job is about teaching… you worked as a mentor or you wrote articles to help others? Great, add it somewhere.

This part looks similar to part one. It certainly points out what the business wants. The company talks about non-technical issues and challenges. If you combine parts one and two, you can determine it is a lot about individuals and tailoring a truly specific solution.
This part indicates more about what you are doing. Showing spirit, talking to clients and building relationships are big factors. What is buried? You get time for your own research… This is an uncommon element and you will not look at this many times in a job offer.
